My Diet

The time has come for my diet to begin. Am I worried? Eh, a little…But my only worry is that I won’t be able to lose the weight I plan to, not that I won’t be able to fulfill my goals. So far, I’ve written the list of rules for my diet and made a five day meal plan. The rules I have are:

  • No eating after 7:00 P.M.
  • No staying up past 12:00 A.M.
  • Must have at least 7.5 hours of sleep
  • 20 minute jog every morning before breakfast and at night before bed
  • Increase running time by 5 minutes every 5 days
  • Only 500 calories a day
  • Schedule food consumption in 5 day blocks
  • At least 5 (16.9 oz) bottles of water a day
  • 5 meals a day
  • No eating at restaurants
  • Weigh in every 5 days at the same time
  • Only allowed to drink water

My diet is going to start on 8/26 and end on 9/25 so wish me luck! I’ll be updating my progress in five days or so!

Happening Shortly

About a month ago, after watching an episode of Random I decided to purchase a Fitbit. It would be a great way to monitor how many calories I’m taking in and how active I’m being. This got me thinking…why not go all out and try to do something that would be physically and mentally challenging? Why not try to lose 30 pounds in 30 days? So I planned and planned and decided that as soon as my FitBit arrived I would start my goal…the FitBit will be shipping here within the week and I’m starting to have a few questions, the one at the forefront being:

How am I going to lose al of this weight?!

I’ve done the math and just by cutting what I eat (drastically) I can lose around twenty pounds…that’s ten short of my goal…sigh…I’m going to keep planning and stop stressing and I’ll post more about my diet as soon as I get it all figured out! Promise :)

Chicago

I just got back from Chicago at around 12:30 A.M. today and I have to say, I’m already ready to go back. It was amazing! So much better than St. Louis. Every time I used to think of Chicago, I pictured a rough dirty area, but this was nothing like that — think of a mini New York City.

My first day there, after getting off the train and checking in to the Ritz Carlton, we walked around a little and went to Tommy Guns Garage and had some dinner, which was a lot of fun. The next day, we walked around a lot and went down to the Navy Pier. I closed that day out with a trip to the Apple store (I bought an iPad!) and some pizza at Gino’s East, which was spectacular!

Our last day was spent shopping and walking around some more, before our departure back to St. Louis. It was a sad day because the thoughts of coming home were looming in my head all afternoon.

I’m gonna be uploading some pictures soon, and hopefully I’m gonna go back for another weekend before the end of the summer!

Writing From Chicago

I arrived in Chicago today for the first time ever and pretty much fell in love! I’m going to make a longer post about it/upload pictures as soon as I get back home — this is just a quick update.

Some things I plan on writing about in the near future:

  • Chicago
  • Fitbit and my impossible self challenge
  • Thoughts on Books vs. Ebook
  • A short story/book idea I have
  • 5 Ways you can travel on the cheap

On top of these specific posts, I plan to start doing full reviews of the books that I’m currently reading! Anyway, that’s all for now, but I’ll be updating again in a couple days!

Too much time, not enough focus…

Today has got to be one of the least productive days I’ve ever had. I’ve been sitting/pacing in my room for the last 6 or so hours, trying to find something to do that doesn’t bore me to tears. I’ve found nothing — I can’t focus on anything. The cause? I believe it to be too many things going on at once.

I have so many projects going on right now, that it’s hard to fully wrap my mind around any one of them. Any time I start to work on one, I think of things for the other. I’m constantly doubting their worth, and it’s troubling…not to mention the various life problems I’m dealing with right now.

How to fix it? I have no idea…

Ideally, I’d like to just take time off of work and away from everything to get back into my self-motivated, single handed, state of mind. Will that happen? Doubt it. My head is constantly spinning around different ideas, and various life choices that should have little to no impact on my happiness and well being — but they do. I’m honestly not even sure why I wrote this blog, other than as a way to vent and actually feel like I’m getting something done…sigh…

Just a little something

Here’s a little post to talk about me and my life. It’s mostly going to be some ramblings from me, mixed with some info about filming and whatnot…

Anyway, I can honestly say that I’ve learned so much this year! Whether it be about film, people, tea, technology, business, or just anything in general, I can already say that this has been and is going to continue being a successful year. I’ve spent a lot of money already this year — way more than I care to share on this blog, but let’s just say that I could have lived in another country for a couple years with it. I feel like my spending habits have gotten WAY out of control and I’m ready to take the reigns and start saving again and/or spending more wisely.

Now, having said that, I HAVE bought a lot of great and useful things. Including: Books (TONS), New editing equipment, Organizational tools, etc…So not ALL of the money has been wasted away.

Another thing I’m currently working on is re-organizing my room. As much as I really hate taking down old posters that mean a lot to me, I feel that a change of scenery is necessary to getting me on a more productive pathway. Right now, my room is utterly chaotic and there is no sense of organization or order anywhere. Hopefully that will change by the end of the month.

Changing up my room also plays in with downsizing my life. I’ve already cleaned out my closet of old clothes I never wear and soon I will be doing the same thing with other possessions.

I’ve signed up for a few services online that will aide me in my attempt to organize and re-structure my life, including mint.com and evernote.com, both of which I saw on Kevin Rose’s blog (kevinrose.com).

I’ve also come to some pretty obvious, yet important realizations this year:

  • I have expensive tastes and low income
  • I tend to start multiple projects at once
  • I’m afraid of failure and tend to never finish said projects
  • People think I’m a lot smarter than I am
  • I argue topics of no importance
  • I spend a lot of money learning new things, then move on
  • I want to do a lot in life, but don’t know which direction to go first
  • My self success is now measured by how much I enjoy life along the way

The way at look at it, I will not fail in life. I’ve never been afraid of not having money, and I’ve never worried about where my life will go. I know that  I’m going to be successful and achieve the goals that I have for myself, and have fun doing it.

To end this blog post I’m going to make a bold statement: If you don’t know my name now, give it less than 10 years and you will.

[ADDED NOTE]

To all of my family and friends that are going to look down on me once you see my sense of humor that you don’t agree with — keep it to yourself. I don’t want to be lectured. And no matter how much you disagree, your words will NOT change how I feel about what is and what isn’t funny. Thanks!

Just a small update

So, the filming yesterday went great! Aside from it being hotter than Africa outside, that is…I’ve been importing the footage and looking it over and I’m really pleased with the results! There are a couple shots I wish we would have done differently, but I think I can make it work — it’s just gonna be a pain in the butt!

Filming yesterday made me miss how much fun it is! I can’t wait for our shoot on the 23rd, it’s gonna be a lot of fun and SHOULD BE a lot quicker than yesterday’s 4 hour shoot haha…I’ll post some more updates as I edit!

Progress

So…it’s looking pretty bad outside and there’s a 40% chance of rain for tomorrow…ugh…We’re probably going to have to re-schedule our video shoot. This sucks! But…

I’m trying to stay productive! I’m about to go down to Home Depot to get some supplies for a Green Screen Stand I’m working on. Yay! More money to spend….sigh…But if we get this thing shot, it will definitely be worth it.

Hmm…what else have I been up to:

  • Signed up for Amazon Prime (Just another way to make me feel like I have to spend money)
  • Bought Crest White Strips Advanced
  • Going to the gym today to inquire costs of a personal trainer
  • Signed up at Evernote .com (Awesome Service!)

So, a new thing I’m going to do in my blog is write a little blurb about what I’m reading! It’ll look like this.

Currently Reading: Making Ideas Happen by Scott Belsky – This book is a little repetitive but, overall, it has some good information in it. However, if you’ve read any other books about time and project management, this book probably isn’t anything new.

I’m back!

I just got back from my vacation to Florida today and even though I had a great time, I’m glad to be home! I’m not going to get into detail about my vacation because well…it’s Florida! You swim, eat, get sun burnt, walk, shop, and lounge around — that was my trip in a nutshell!

Anyway, I’m home now and about to script out a new short scheduled to shoot on June 23rd! I also just called a rental company to inquire about a prop needed for the video shoot this Wednesday (as long as it doesn’t rain)! Pretty exciting, pretty busy…

Now that I’ve covered that I’m gonna recommend an AMAZING book for everyone out there…It’s called The 4 Hour Work Week By Tim Ferriss who is seriously, someone I try to model myself after…Give it a read, it’s HIGHLY recommended!

While we’re on the topic of books, here’s a few more that I’ve recently purchased and can hopefully get around to reading soon:

So as you can see I’ve got a TON of reading to do! Anyway, I’m going to get back to writing my script! Bye for now!

It’s 2:00 A.M.

So I was sitting in my room, attempting to script out a new idea I’ve been working on, while Superbad is on in the background and I realized I haven’t updated my blog at all in a week! I completely forgot to the the whole Monday, Wednesday, Friday thing! Whoops…So I guess I’ll be starting that this week and continuing it whenever I get back from Florida. Now that that’s out of the way…

I had a really eventful day today! Met up with Ben, Cody, Chris, and Kynan (I think that’s how it’s spelled?) about some film stuff we’re gonna be working on in June. We’ve currently got 3 shooting dates lined up, 2 of those being for Comedy Overdose, so that’s pretty exciting. I just ordered one of the props needed for one of the shoots, and I’m hoping it gets here in time! I also bought a new computer for video editing so I can’t wait to get some stuff out! I’ve also been working on the site some more but it’s going slow…

Another thing I’ve been thinking about is the name and whatnot…I’m not sure if I’m happy with it all…hmmm…it’s ok, I’ll have plenty of time to think it all over, the most important thing right now is getting stuff filmed!

On another note, the tea project I’ve been working on has been going great too! Now, as with everything, it’s just a matter of money…I never seem to have enough! Sigh…it’s ok though, everything will work out in the end, I hope.
